Meet Jim Walter

James D. Walter, PhD (Jim) is the Founder and President of the Institute for the Preservation of Health (IPH).  Motivated by the premature death of his Father at age 45, Dr. Walter tailored his education to study the factors that contribute toward the development of heart disease.

He ultimately completed his PhD in Cardiovascular Exercise Physiology in 1991.  He spent the first 10 years of his professional career teaching and developing preventive and rehabilitative cardiology programs in the Philadelphia area.  He has spent the last 23 years in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry, but his passion has always remained to help people take more responsibility for their own health.

He is recognized for his leadership skills, inspiring stories, unique ideas and motivational techniques for getting individuals to incorporate more activity into their daily lives.  The culmination of these experiences has fueled his desire to speak to large audiences in order to help them live a healthier life.
